Logic - Natural Rubber

Not every toy is safe, was our conclusion when we went looking for fun toys for our four-legged friends a few years ago. For instance, we received a super cute plastic chicken as a gift. Very cute until we saw the paint peeling off. Not quite the intention and super unfortunate for our dog. The idea of her gobbling up paint residue didn't quite appeal to us, so the chicken went out the door.
But what exactly are safe dog toys and are there any alternatives to plastic toys? We went in search. In our view, safe dog toys contain no toxins, cannot break and have no sharp edges or points.

What is the difference between natural rubber and synthetic rubber?

The word natural rubber actually says it all. The main ingredient of natural rubber comes from nature. Namely the sap, better known as latex, of the rubber tree (Hevea Brasiliensis). Synthetic means it is man-made. Synthetic rubber has petroleum as its main basic ingredient.
Other advantages of natural rubber are that production requires a fraction of the energy compared to synthetic rubber. Also, latex is a renewable resource and petroleum is not.
