Logic - Cotton Rope
100% cotton rope is used for Cooper & Quint's dog leads and dog toys. Why? We list the benefits for you.
Cotton rope is completely natural
Cotton rope is all-natural, meaning it is 100% cotton and contains no artificial materials. With a composition like this, it is great for dog leashes, dog toys and items for the home. Cotton is the safest material for dog toys as it is not harmful when consumed. Synthetic materials like paracord are dangerous because they are plastic, which can damage a pet's organs after consumption. Additional advantage is washability.
Cotton rope is eco-friendly
100% cotton rope is completely biodegradable, making it an eco-friendly product. Even when your rope is ready to be retired, you don't have to feel guilty about throwing it away. Let bacteria and other living organisms take care of it!
Cotton rope is soft and strong
Cotton rope provides a good grip while also being soft on the hands, preventing rope burn that is often caused by other types of rope, such as nylon, polyester or other synthetic ropes. Cotton rope is slightly stretchy, allowing it to cope well with a quick pull from your dog. It has also been independently tested and with a breaking strength of over 250kg, rope is also very strong. Extra nice, there are no harmful dyes, chemicals or other materials used in Cooper & Quint's cotton ropes. Using these ropes helps protect the planet, our only home.
Cotton available in several colours
Available in several colours. Cotton rope is available from Cooper & Quint in various colours, such as ecru, grey, green and khaki. Braided rope is used for the Just Cotton Rope lines and beaten rope is used for the Twisted Rope lines.
Braided versus beaten rope
Braided: The word says it all, the rope is braided together. The rope is composed of a 16-fold braided sheath and a core. This construction creates a supple rope.
Beaten: In beaten rope, strands of rope are wrapped around each other. This can be in a 3-, 4- or 6-strand construction. The most common is the 3-strand construction.
Cotton is easy to customise
Is your colour not listed? All rope lines are adaptable to different colours. Feel free to contact us for your favourite colour? If your specific colour is not available, dye the rope yourself. You can choose to buy dye sets or use plants, fruit and other natural items to dye. Raspberries, for example, will produce a light pink colour.
